5 Things Your Hairstylist Wants You to Know

IMG956765I love going to get my hair done and I love my stylist Jamie( Looks Salon and Spa). Jamie is amazing in all that she does with my hair. I am perfectly happy going into the salon and letting her do whatever she feels. When I go to see her I always come in with an open mind and I try to be extremely realistic in what I want. Many people however, don’t think like that before going to a stylist and expect to walk out looking like JLO. Here are some things your Hairstylist wished you actually knew!

Bring Photos

Always bring photos of the color or style you are considering. It is extremely hard for a stylist to know what you want just by description.

Printrest is Unrealistic

Bringing in photos is great but remember your hair is unique to you. Therefore, your hair will never 100% look like the photo. Your stylist is going to try to get your hair exactly like the photo but be realistic.

Remember the washers

We all tip our stylists but remember the hair washers as well! They are all up in that gooey, sticky hair and deserve something as well! If you cant afford to tip them, please let them know how much you value what they do!

Drugstore vs. Professional

The difference between professional and drugstore hair products is amazing. When you grab those wonderfully cheap drugstore hair products, you are also grabbing tons of Sulfates and Parabens. Those lovely things strip your hair and ruin the color you just spent $175 dollars on. Jamie said this to me during our conversation, “ You can wax your floor with Parabens, that says it all.”

Running Late

Call ahead to let your stylist know if you are running late. If you are 15 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment that changes everything for a stylist. Time is money for Stylist. Make sure you respect their time as much as they do yours!

Hope you guys have a wonderful start to the week!
