Emma Watson once said that skincare is more important than makeup and I 100% believe that. My skin has had its trough patches. Battling cystic acne as a kid was hard and naturally a huge blow to the self esteem. Over the years my skincare routine has changed so many times and I have tired everything under the sun. One thing I had never tired was brands that promoted products that used more organic and natural ingredients. Recently I decided to finally take the plunge and test a few things out. I have been loving the results and found some brands that I love.

One skincare brand I recommend everyone check out is Antipodes. It is a science based company that has invested years of research into products that are selected of the purest ingredients. I have been loving The Aura Manuka Honey Mask, Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser, and The Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream.

Another brand that has quickly made its way into every aspect of my routine is Pai. This is a brand that understands sensitive skin. Sarah Brown the founder made a brand that is effective and organic. Its really an amazing brand and I have become obsessed with her Rosehip Bioregenerate oil, Kuki & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator, and Copaiba Deep Cleanse AHA Mask.

I cannot forget Indie Lee, a brand that uses the finest all-natural ingredients from around the world,  a line designed to enhance your natural skin. I have yet to try a product from the brand that I did not love. Currently I am obsessing over The Rosehip Cleanser, COQ-10 Toner, and The Blemish Lotion.

Finally, but certainly not last is MV Organic. This is the brand that started my search into healthy skincare. This brand is used by many celebrities and bloggers such as Estee Lalonde and Anna from The Anna Edit. The brand is all about great ingredients making amazing products. They believe in a skincare ritual that will help you unwind and relax. Now that’s a statement I can get behind. I started out trying The Gentle Cream Cleanser, Pure Jojoba Oil,  and The Rose Hydrating Mist. The addiction to this brand is becoming a serious problem for me haha.

Let me know what your favorite happy skincare brands are! Please remember I am not a skincare expert and these opinions are my own.

This is Emma Watson’s red carpet must have. Honestly take a look at her skin and you will purchase right now! I love how versatile this product is. MV Organic’s Pure Jojoba Oil removes eye make-up, strengthens lashes, calms reactive skins including eczema and rosacea. This oil is similar to the skins own sebum therefore he absorbs super fast without clogging pores.

Because of how fast this sinks into the skin I use this in AM before my moisturizer. I am sorta obsessed with this product now. It leaves my skin so happy and glowing I just cannot get enough of it. MV organics is hard to come by in the States but I found an amazing website Detox Market! I highly recommend a little check around the website they have amazing products and shipping was super fast!

Lets talk hair protection. Over the course of the year I have tired to love my hair a little bit more and limit my damage to it. Naturally when you use styling tools your going to damage your hair. I try to use as many happy hair products I can. I was recently looking into a heat protectant spray and came across this wonderful guy.

Melu Hair Shield from Davines is beyond amazing. I have had a year long affair with Davines and it is no secret why! The brand is ethically sourced and has a ton of sustainability projects. Melu Hair Shield protects the hair from straightening or blow drying and is ideal for any type of hair. Lentil Seeds to nourish and Panthenol to give moisture to the hair, its packed full of amazingness. I love how easy and perfect this is for everyday use. My hair looks and feels healthy. Honestly what more could you ask for?

I recently took the plunge into healthier skincare. I have always been super hesitant and my skin clearly was telling me a change needed to happen. I looked into healthy skincare and came across a brand called Pai. I see YouTubers always raving about how wonderful the brand was and I figured maybe I should give it a shot.

My first purchase was the Pai Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil. Formulated for hypersensitive skin or skin that is red. This is a skin saving hero. It deeply conditions the skin, improves firmness, elasticity and promotes clear, even skin tone. The uses for this product are endless. Its really a wonderful oil. Every morning after using this my skin feels so alive and healthy which is truly all that any of us really want.

One warning, be careful when using this it will stain clothes and sheets. Clearly I learned this the hard way. So if you are in the market for clear, supple, and healthy skin check out Pai!

I am writing this after a long day at work. Everything hurts specially if you have been on your feet all day. I was in Sephora the other day and a friend of mine who is fabulous, Jess recommended a random product to me……… a foot mask.

These little guys are $5 dollars each which for a mask is pretty amazing. Jess mentioned how amazing these smell and boy was she right. The almond one is out of this world! I have been using these Sunday evening during my pamper sessions. It’s a perfect way to relax and unwind. Inside these little packs are little plastic paper booties. Infused with hydrating qualities and a power lotion/serum. I usually leave these on for 20 minutes then massage in the remaining serum into my feet. My feet leave feeling refreshed, smoothed, and hydrated.

Next time you are at Sephora check these out!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. All the wonderful colors, sweaters, and of course football. If you did not know I am a huge football fan and I do enjoy a little tailgating with friends however, tailgating usually involves a lot of unhealthy food. Thanks to Chobani that’s all changing!

Introducing the new MEZE drip range! With a variety of flavors to pick from you can be the life of the tailgate with this healthy dip. I always struggle a bit with what to pair with dips because let’s be honest chips are not the healthiest item. I recently bought a bag of the mini sweet peppers and figured I would try it together. Basically an explosion occurred in my mouth and in the best way! The sweet of the pepper and the tang of the dip makes the perfect combo! Plus, if your looking for healthier options at those fun tailgates peppers and yogurt dip are a great choice! Here are some other great ideas instead of those chips!

So say goodbye to the unwanted calories and say hello to a healthy, flavorful, and fun dip! Perfect for any event you may be going to this season! If you are interested in finding out more about these yummy dips check out Chobani Meze Dips.

I need to stop spending money or stay out of Sephora. Sephora gets me every time. Recently I went into Sephora and had myself a little purchase. Here are three products you need to try!

Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

I used to love Clinique but then I feel out of love with the brand. Recently I jumped on the bandwagon. I was shocked at the results I have been receiving from the line. Since, the seasons are changing those dry and flaky patches have returned. I have been using this as a nighttime mask before bed and have been loving the results. My skin is smooth, moisturized, and plumped. If you’re in the market for a moisture mask, I highly recommended this one!

Belif Moisturizing and Firming Eye Cream

Say hello to the eye cream that has changed my future eye wrinkles! This guy is seriously amazing. Every time I use this my under eye area look brighter, smoother, and plumper. It has a faint citrus scent which I find wonderful for my early mornings.

Urban Decay NAKED SKIN Concealer

I purchased this randomly the other day and wasn’t really expecting much. Naturally I was completely wrong. This concealer is amazing. I find it is pretty light weight but still packs some powerful coverage. It really does look like your skin but better. I usually apply this with a damp beauty blender under my eye area and on the occasional break out. Highly recommend this for my light makeup lovers out there!

The idea of a product stopping oil in its tracks is sort of crazy. I kept seeing amazing reviews of the new COVER FX CUSTOM BLOT DROPS and figured I needed to get my hands on it.  COVER FX prides itself on the customization and this versatility. The CUSTOM BLOT DROPS can be applied before, after, or mixed with makeup. Inside this wonderful looking container is a mega serum that helps clear pores, hydrate, soothe and tone the skin. When applied to direct skin it helps diffuse light to blur those unwanted imperfections away.

I tested this product out during hot days, work days, and even going out. To my surprise it blew away my expectations. Even after a night of some awful dancing on my part, my makeup was not budging. Honestly, not a drop of oil in sight! That blew away my mind. I’m not sure what makes this product amazing but I’m not complaining. It has serious lasting power and keeps everything looking fresh!

Blueberry Lime Yogurt Cake

I cannot believe it is about to be September already. I’m not complaining though; I love the fall but I do enjoy the produce that comes with summer. I recently went to a blueberry farm near my house and gathered way too many blueberries and figured this would be a perfect time to try out a new cake! Say hello to my new favorite summer cake: The Blueberry Lime Yogurt Cake!

I made a small version of this cake only because I can never finish a big cake by myself but you can make this in a variety of sizes. I used a recipe from BBC to make this but made a few minor changes.

For the cake:

1 cup butter, at room temperature

1 1/2 cup sugar

2 1/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 Tbsp. organic lime zest (2 large limes)

3 large eggs

1/3 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice (2 large limes, use the same ones you grated)

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

For the Blueberry Filling

3 Cups Fresh or Frozen Blueberries

2 Tbsp flour

3 Tbsp lime juice

1/4 cup cane sugar

For the Frosting

2 packages 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 1/2 cup icing sugar

Prepare the blueberry filling first because it will need to cool before putting it on the cake. In a small pot mix the flour, lime juice, sugar and blueberries. Heat to a simmer on medium for about 5 to 10 minutes or until sauce is thick and turned translucent.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and beat after each. In another bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl mix together the yogurt, lime juice, and lime zest. Once all mixed together add 1/3 of the dry and wet ingredients at a time until fully combined. The dough should be thick and not watery.

Add the batter to your baking pans, making sure to grease or coat with butter to prevent sticking. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

To prepare the cream cheese frosting, whip cream cheese and sugar until smooth and silky. Once finished you can assemble your cake. I decided to do an open faced cake because I love seeing the layers. I placed the cream cheese on the middle layer and then the blueberry filling on top. However, you can assemble this however you like!
